Double three times
8 × 6: six is twelve, twelve is twenty-four, twenty-four is forty-eight. It is slower than knowing the answer and that is fine — the point is that a child is never stuck. A child with a route never has to guess, and guessing is what turns a hard table into a fear of maths.
Every answer is even, and more than even
All ten answers in this table can be halved three times and still land on a whole number. 56 halves to 28, to 14, to 7. That is not a party trick: it is the reason the doubling method works, and seeing it run backwards makes the forwards version stick.
What is left after the other tables
8 × 8 = 64 and 8 × 9 = 72. Everything else in this table has already appeared somewhere else, the other way round. Two new facts is a fair week's work.
