Short version: nothing about your child leaves the device unless you, the parent, sign in. There are no adverts and nothing is sold.
What is stored on the device
Scores, stickers, which facts are due for review, the daily goals, the reward goal, the chosen levels, and a name if you type one. This lives in the browser's own storage. Clearing the browser data deletes it.
What happens if a parent signs in
Signing in with Google is optional and exists for one reason: to carry progress to a second device. Then the same values above are stored against that account on Supabase, whose servers for this project are in the European Union. Google tells us an email address and a name; we store neither inside the game data.
Visits to these pages
These public pages use Google Analytics, which counts visits and tells us which pages people read and roughly where in the world they are. It sets a cookie for that. We use it to decide which guides to write next.
The games at /play/ carry no analytics at all. That is deliberate: a child plays there, and we do not measure a child.
Nothing is sent to Google until you say yes. The banner on your first visit is a real question with two real answers, and until it is answered no request leaves this site for Google at all — not even the cookieless kind that most consent banners still allow. Your answer is remembered in this browser, not in a cookie.
You can also block the script in your browser or install Google's opt-out add-on.
What we never collect
- No advertising identifiers and no advertising profiles
- No analytics inside the games
- No photographs, no voice recordings, no precise location
- No contact details for the child
Children's data
The account belongs to a parent, not to a child. We ask children for nothing. A name typed into settings is optional, stays on the device unless you sign in, and can be a nickname.
Deleting everything
On the device: clear the site data in the browser. In the cloud: write to hello@smarties.co from the address you signed in with and everything under that account is deleted.
