What it teaches
Around twenty common animal words. They are worth learning early because they are concrete, they are short, and a child already knows every one of the animals — only the word is new, so there is exactly one thing to learn.
How it works
A picture appears with words to choose from, and the word is spoken when it is chosen. The game has three levels: they change how many questions a round holds and how many answers are offered, from three up to five.
A wrong word is not accepted. After a long pause one wrong answer fades, then another, but never below two — a hint that leaves one choice has answered its own question.
What to look for
Level 3 drops the written label under the picture, so the picture has to be read rather than the word underneath it. That is the level worth aiming at.
